The 3D Casting Process
Our 3D casts are created using a natural product made from seaweed
which is of medical grade quality and entirely safe for use on skin. The powder is mixed with water until it forms a moulding gel into which the hand or foot is immersed, after approx one minute the mould will have set into a latex like rubber mould and the hand or foot can then be carefully removed, any remaining residue can be easily cleaned using baby wipes.
3D casts may on occasion be unsuitable for smaller children as it is important not to wriggle or move around too much as the mould is setting, it helps if babies are well settled and comfortable, usually following a feed or sleep.
3D Casting Frames
Our 3D casts are finished in silver or gold and are mounted in a box frame of your choice from light wood, white, antique gold or black/silver. Photos can be added at an additional cost and the finished product will usually be ready within 4-6 weeks.
